Notting Hill


Notting Hill is a cosmopolitan district known for its summer carnival and perhaps more famously, Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts in ‘that’ movie. It has a contemporary reputation as a fashionable and affluent area, known for attractive terraces of large Victorian townhouses, high-end retail and restaurants – perfect for families of all sizes and ages.

The pastel-coloured homes are as iconic to London as Big Ben, and Portobello Market is a classically British attraction. With stalls of antiques, jewellery, furs, fresh street food and often performers amid the upmarket shops, this in an area which must be visited. Refuel in one of the charming cafes with a cappuccino and some artisan treats, or perhaps choose one of the many restaurants for an impressive dining experience. For cinema with a difference, the Electric Cinema offers leather armchairs, footstools and cashmere blankets.

Nearby Westbourne Grove is the perfect spot for some shopping and brunch at Nicole Farhi’s 202 which comprises both café and fashion boutique. The area has also had an association with artists and ‘alternative’ culture for some time with Notting Hill Arts Club a ‘muso’ favourite. Its cultural diversity, proximity to central London and large family homes make it a prime location for a stylish stay for all the family.


Experience a boutique-style stay in this delightful 2 bed apartment with terrace. The apartment sits on the top floor of a Georgian building in the heart of Notting Hill.   

In the large and spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living room, the deluxe cream corner couch & sofa bed points towards a wall-mounted plasma TV. A 6 seater glass dining table sits beneath a designer mirror and chandelier. There's a variety of prints and photographs on the walls adding to this chic wooden floored room. The large windows provide great lighting for this lovely room. 

The white and black kitchen has floor and wall cabinets and a chrome extractor. It's fully integrated with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, hob and oven. A skylight provides additional lighting for when you're cooking.

The master bedroom is bright with black organza curtains above the king-size bed. The large mirror, built-in wardrobe and dresser are all stylish and practical. The second bedroom is playfully decorated with a hand painted canvas, mirrored bedside table and a built-in wardrobe. The large double bed sits below a window and a host of spotlights, creating a light airy room.

The fully white tiled bathroom has a large pink feature wall, with a wall to wall mirror and a further sleek black carved mirror. There's a bath (and wall-mounted shower over the bath), WC and hand basin.

For some outdoor relaxation and fun, take yourself outside to the wood panelled terrace, complete with a table, chairs and BBQ. (Note this sits between the first and second floors and can be shared by other residents).

With the famous Portobello Road market and the very heart of Notting Hill just over a 5 minute walk away, you'll enjoy the lively neighbourhood with its cafes, restaurants, market and boutique shops as well as its many pubs and bars. This area holds much in the way of entertainment, whatever your interest, including the world famous Notting Hill Carnival at the end of August, which is a mark to the cultural vibrancy of this area. The green spaces of Holland Park and Kensington Gardens are also close by. For venturing into other parts of London, you're no more than a 5 minute walk to Westbourne Park with its handy connections (on both the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines).

Please note this apartment is on the penthouse floor - 3 flights of stairs and no lift. We think it's worth the climb...but do note if you might struggle with this!

'The Ledbury' on Talbot Road is a 2 Michelin Starred restaurant with a fantastic reputation.
'Tiroler Hut', is a friendly Austrian pub in the area and 'The Electric Brasserie' on Portobello Road has an interesting style, serves food all day and has a good selection of cocktails in the evening.
'Bumpkin' is a lovely restaurant on Westbourne Park Road which does good British food all day (including elevensies and afternoon tea!) and 'The Taqueria' is a lovely, and very reasonably priced Mexican Taco Cafe on Westbourne Grove.
The famous Portobello Road Market is only a 5 minute walk away, and 'The Westbourne' is a lovely gastropub nearby.

I stayed in the flat for 6 weeks in December/ January. My sister and a friend met me for Christmas and new year and we had a wonderful time!! The owner gave me tips on getting into covent garden and oxford street. I spent a lot of time in the area and there are good shops in noting hill. We left the owner some champagne and hope she enjoyed it.

We were a group of 3 adults and 3 children. The owner was so helpful and in the neighbourhood for questions. We arrived quite early and the owner had other guests leaving. She let us leave out cases in the flat and gave us directions for nearby cafes. We met her a couple of times that week and she even bought treats for my little girls. It is a perfect flat to stay in London for a family. We walked around in Notting Hill and it was easy to get to Covent Garden. A two bedroom property in the heart of Notting Hill - one of the most desirable areas of London. Aside from the fantastic location the apartment benefits from high ceilings, wooden floors, stylish furniture and a spacious open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area.

We arranged this stay very last minute through our friend who knows the lady at Vive Unique. We were very grateful to have found such a lovely place to stay. It was big enough for my wife and me and our 3 teenage boys. We cooked a lot in the flat and sometimes had meals in the neighbourhood. We loved the area!!
