The focus of this exclusive area is Kensington High Street with its array of upmarket boutiques and luxury shops as well as high street shops, cafes and restaurants. The streets of elegant townhouses, often with white pillared fronts, are classically British and familiar to many as an emblem of prosperity. Behind these immaculate doors are spacious homes, with room for all the family.
Kensington borders Hyde Park - one of the largest parks in central London and a great day out – as well as Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace where Princess Diana once lived. Holland Park, just West of Kensington High Street, is handy for a walk with the kids, or if you’re looking for an urban retreat to unwind, there are many high end spas and salons to visit.
The second hub of activity is in South Kensington, which has a tube station and a decent selection of pubs, wine bars and eateries. This area plays host to many museums and venues, notably the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Many consider this the ideal destination for a family vacation to London because of the safe, quiet streets and numerous activities available close to the city centre.

On the ground floor there is a sizeable reception room with bay windows, wooden floors, 2 comfortable sofas, a large TV and a piano. This room is slightly sectioned, with one part benefiting from the large flatscreen TV and the other part (sectioned by the piano!) is perfect for wrapping up in a blanket and reading a book.
This opens to the kitchen which is stylishly decorated with a neutral white colour and injections of colour with purple. It is fully equipped with everything guests should need with a hob, oven, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. There is also a large table which can seat up to 10, perfect for larger groups or families.
The kitchen leads to the outdoor terrace through the huge glass doors. These are a great feature as they give the room a real indoors/outdoors feel. Outside, on the terrace, there are several chairs dotted for when the sun is shining!
On the first and second floors you’ll find the 4 bedrooms which are all calmly and simply decorated. The master bedroom has a super king-sized bed, fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. The en suite has a large walk-in shower, double sink, loo and a good deal of mirrors.
The further 3 bedrooms have double beds and fitted wardrobes (with the fourth bedroom having a small double bed).
There is highspeed wi-fi and the house is wired for sound. There’s a DVD/video player, Sky apple tv. For convenience, there is a guest cloakroom on the first floor with a loo and sink and a washer/dryer. The street’s residents pay for private security surveillance which may give guests peace of mind, particularly if they have young families.
You’ll be perfectly located on a quiet and exclusive residential, yet just minutes away from the delights of High Street Kensington. Just a minute’s walk is Thackeray St with a little collection of boutiques, cafes and restaurants. At the top of the road – about a 4 minute walk – is High Street Kensington. Here you’ll find shops galore – everything from high street brands to independent boutiques – as well as the flagship Wholefoods store (great for an eat-in meal or for one of the vast selections of fresh, take-away meals to enjoy at home if you don’t fancy cooking). You also find restaurants, cafes, antique shops and a cinema. Walk to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park in just over 5 minutes. The Museums of South Kensington (Natural History, Victoria & Albert and Science) as well as the Royal Albert Hall are no more than a 10 – 15 minute walk.
For exploring other parts of the Capital, High St Kensington tube is just over a 5 minute walk (on the District and Circle lines and within Zone 1).
