Shoreditch

Shoreditch is an East End suburb with an interesting cultural mix of people and venues. There’s a distinct lack of chain stores, and an edge to every one of the boutique shops, taverns, bars and restaurants. The area has a hip vibe, and is a hub for fashionistas, artists and musicians. Wander Shoreditch High Street and its side streets and you’ll find an assortment of trendy clubs and cafes, vintage shops and street wear shops. A particular hotspot at the weekends is nightclub Cargo on Rivington Street.

Spitalfields to the South has a colourful history and the marketplace underwent a lengthy regeneration programme which resulted in the creation of two new public spaces: Bishops Square and Crispin Place. Amongst the food stalls, clothes and jewellery stalls are cocktail bars and designer shops such as the Mischa Barton Boutique.

A little way around the corner from Shoreditch and the City is vibrant Brick Lane, better known as the curry mile, offering the adventurous foodie a fragrant haven of all things Asian. The Whitechapel Art Gallery, which has debuted world-class artists such as Pablo Picasso, Lucien Freud and Gilbert & George, is on nearby Whitechapel Road.

If you’re looking for a unique home rental in an up and coming area, Shoreditch is the area of the moment, with a variety of distinctive modern apartments as well as period properties and mews homes.

No smoking, no pets and no parties.

An exceptionally light and airy penthouse apartment in Dalston/Shoreditch.

Beautifully decorated with modern interior design, art-work and quality fittings and appliances. Open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with one great wall of double-height windows. Opens out to a wooden balcony to accommodate al fresco dining and drinks as well as providing a super spot to view the Regents Canal and watch the houseboats, kayakers and families of swans and ducks go by!

The bedroom downstairs is equally light and airy with plenty of wardrobe space. The colourful bathroom is equipped with fluffy towels and top-range toiletries.

Let the mezzanine be your sanctuary after a hard day's work, shopping or sight-seeing. There's a comfortable king-size bed (with memory foam mattress) and a further sitting area with large grey suede sofa, coffee table and 42'' flatscreen tv (with DVD + video player). There's also a great collection of books and DVDs for your enjoyment. For guests visiting in winter time, this area is particularly cosy!

Walk to Hoxton Square, Brick Lane, Spitalfields, Broadway Market, Columbia Rd Flower Market and Islington - all within 10-20 minutes. Or, if you'd like to see more of what is being called the coolest part of London - Dalston - you needn't walk too far from the front door at all. Further down the same street is 'Pho Mile', home to London's finest Vietnamese restaurants, as well as other edgy and arty cafe/bars.

The closest Underground stations are Liverpool St and Old St. It's a 2 minute walk to the Haggerston overground, which will zoom you down to Canary Wharf within 15 minutes or give you handy connections at Whitechapel for the District line (to Kensington in 45 minutes) or Highbury & Islington (for the Victoria line and Oxford Street in 25 minutes).

If you're a City slicker, you could walk to work or catch one of the many buses outside the apartment leading down to Bishopsgate and reach the City with 5-10 minutes.

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. I surprised my wife for our anniversary and we were very lucky with the weather. The mezzanine is the best feature and it was lovely to be out on the balcony overlooking the canal. We both absolutely loved the apartment, and are planning to come back over the summer! We got rather attached! Thanks to the owner too.

I came back to this flat for the Easter holiday with my boyfriend. We were lucky to have some sunshine and enjoyed strawberries and Champagne on the balcony. It’s great to look down on the houseboats below and see the swans and ducks. We love the area and went back to our favourite pizza restaurant and coffee shop at Boundary. We will always try to stay in this flat when we come to London. We plan to come around December and bring another couple. Thanks to the owner for all the lovely toiletries and cakes :) - Josefin and Nicklas, Stockholm

I stayed here for a week in July with my best friend. We love the Shoreditch area!!! We visited the little shops round Redchurch St and Brick Lane on the weekends and went to Pizza East for dinner. The apartment is so sunny and the upstairs area is comfortable for watching movies + tv. It’s also handy to get to Oxford St with the bus stop across the road and the Tesco is right opposite too. I love the big white curtain and the cool concrete urban feel. We will be back !! -Josefin and Ellinor, Stockholm

My name is Joe. I am planning a trip to London this July. I would like to let you know how happy I have been working with you company. I have been in contact with Nisha from the start and she has made every part of this process a pleasure. She has responded to every question promptly day or night and has worked to make my booking an absolute pleasure. She was also very helpful in narrowing down where we should stay and went above and beyond to make sure we understood the locations and options we had for this trip. We are very much looking forward to staying in the penthouse apartment in Shoreditch. Overall, I just wanted to make you aware of how happy we have been to work with Nisha and your company. Joe, New York

This apartment was my sanctuary and office when I came to take my law transfer exam. It was a blissful week weather-wise. If I wasn’t working from the big dining table, I’d sit at the table on the balcony. It was a wonderful distraction to watch the houseboats below and all of wildlife in the canal!! I’d wander to Towpath, a little café on the canal and for a break or my lunch. Having the Tesco across the road was so convenient. Transport was easy from the bus stop across road. A few times I walked to Liverpool Street and went into town from there. I would love to come back with my husband and little girl as I have such great memories… and I passed my exam!! Thanks for making my stay so comfortable. -Meg H, Miami

This chic penthouse is one of our most popular apartments, and for good reason. The main living area is a lovely, airy space and the L shaped sofa is very comfy. Enjoy a morning coffee on the balcony, then head out to explore the exciting and trendy East End. Two couples could easily share this home for a stylish city stay.
